Girls Youth Basketball · Cougar Girls Basketball Announces Youth Camp Dates


Coach Jeff Turmail and his Cougar staff and players have set the following camp dates for the spring and summer of 2018:

 

BHSN Youth Basketball Camp, May 14th – 16th 

The Bloomington High School North Boys & Girls Basketball programs will be holding the Cougar Basketball camp for players in the K-6th grade on May 14th-16th.

  • The K-3rd Grade camp for boys and girls will take place from 5:30-7pm while 4th-6th grade will play from 7-8:30pm at the BHSN gyms; cost is $50.
  • Interested girls should register at: http://www.ladycougarsbasketball.com.
  • Interested boys should register at: http://www.bloomingtonnorthbasketball.com.
  • Pre-registration through the website is highly encouraged.
  • Coach Speer, Coach Turmail, the coaching staffs & current BHSN players will conduct the Cougar Elementary camp.
  • The camp will focus on skill development and the establishment of good fundamentals that will prepare them to be sound basketball players in the future. Items of focus will include defensive and offensive fundamentals, with a focus on shooting, ball handling, and passing skills.
  • Every Camper will be given a camp t-shirt. Pre-register through the correct website listed above to ensure your camper receives the appropriate size.

Girls Middle School Basketball Camp: June 4th – 7th

The Bloomington High School North Girls Basketball program will be holding the Cougar Basketball camp for players entering 6th-8th grade on June 4th -7th.

  • The cost is $50.
  • The camp for incoming grades 6-8 will take place from 11:30am – 1:00pm at the BHSN gyms.
  • Interested girls should register at: http://www.ladycougarsbasketball.com under the “Summer Ball – Grades 6-8 tab.”
  • Pre-registration through the website is highly encouraged.
  • Coach Turmail & the girls’ basketball coaching staff will conduct the Cougar Middle School Camp.
  • The camp will focus on individual skill development through varsity drills. Items of focus will include man-to-man defense concepts, and fundamentals including shooting, ball handling, and passing techniques.
  • The players will also be introduced to North’s offense and defense, which will better prepare them for their future at the Middle and High School levels. In addition to the camp experience, there will be more June basketball opportunities for the incoming 6th-8th graders who attend camp.
  • There will be a Maroon and Gold youth scrimmage June 9th, and many of the players will be asked to participate in additional June practices in preparation for possible one and two day tournaments as they become available in the month of June.
